Corrosion
is brought to you every week by smytii and Balti.
Here's info on these two multi-talented people!
Smytii:
Live! From New York! It's smytii!
She's been here for almost a decade, but prior to that she spent the 80's
and
90's
in
the Big Apple, frequenting all of those clubs you've heard about (Danceteria,
Mudd
Club, Max's Kansas City, Studio 54, Peppermint Lounge, Limelight, The Bank,
Batcave, Pyramid, CBGB's).
Drawing from that knowledge has
proved successful--Smytii began concepting/
developing Corrosion in 2001,
working with a talented team of DC talent, including MC Tram and
Oletheros. She's also been a guest dj at "Cryptkicker"
(Baltimore, MD), "Purgatorio", "Schadenfreude" and
Zucchabar (Washington, DC),
where
her varied
sets have always kept
the patrons wondering "what's she going to play next?" Smytii got
back to her roots in 2005 at Chief Ike's "Midnight Monday Madness",
spinning punk, hardcore, and "loud, fast and ugly music" for most
of the year. Smytii has been spotted at Club Orpheus in Baltimore,
throwing out high-energy dance tracks for everyone to enjoy.
She keeps out of trouble as an art director during daylight hours and manages
several clients' design needs from her studio at home. Smytii is a communications
design graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC--so her socks always match!
Balti:
You've caught dj Balti's sets
at "The Garden", "Rapture", and "Taboo" in
Baltimore, as well as several guest dj appearances at Corrosion before
joining the team fulltime.
Balti brings a unique blend of hard industrial, old-school metal, and a
trunkful of oddities he's collected along the way to Corrosion. Balti has
also been a resident dj at Club Orpheus in Baltimore, luring patrons onto
the dance floor with his infectious mix of industrial
tunes and hard-dance beats.
We'd
like to take a moment to thank the following people who've helped
make Corrosion a success, we truly couldn't have done it without
ya. Big shout-out
to you all!
- Adina Watson
- Tony Akira
- Shannon Stewart & Oletheros
- Our friends at DA's/RFD
- All of our guest djs, and--of course--our patrons!
