Corrosion is
brought
to you by smytii and Balti.
Smytii:
She's been
a Washington DC resident for almost a decade, and spent
the 80's and 90's in the Big Apple, frequenting all of those clubs
you've
heard
about
(Danceteria,
Mudd Club, Max's Kansas City, Studio 54, Peppermint Lounge, Limelight,
The Bank, Batcave, Pyramid, CBGB's).
Drawing from that knowledge has proven successful--Smytii began concepting/developing
Corrosion in 2001, working with a team of talented people over the years,
including MC Tram, Oletheros, dj Jolene, Solaries, and a full roster of
fabulous
guest djs. She's also been a guest dj at "Cryptkicker" (Baltimore,
MD), "Purgatorio", "Schadenfreude" and Zucchabar (Washington,
DC), and several "Strictly Locals" events with Balti at Strangeland
Records in VA. Smytii's range of musical tastes runs the gamut and will
keep the floor moving!
Smytii got back to her roots in 2005 at Chief
Ike's "Midnight Monday Madness", spinning punk, hardcore, and "loud,
fast and ugly music" for most of the year. In 2007,
smytii was a resident dj at Club Orpheus in Baltimore, throwing out high-energy
dance tracks
for everyone
to enjoy.
In May '08, smytii and Balti were honored to be selected as the official
dj talent for the NHL's "Hockey Fights Cancer" event in Maryland
- a one-day extravaganza featuring fundraisers, bands, vendors, and even
an alumni game. You can find out more here.
Smytii
and Balti were also invited to be a part of "Dracula's
Ball" in
Philly, a recurring theme party and one of the largest in the country,
over Labor Day weekend of 2008.
As c365Radio's owner, producer, station manager/program director and on-air
talent, smytii crafts the direction and vision of the station with Balti
- in 2009 they interviewed and produced segments featuring Mia Hamm, Chuck
D
of Public
Enemy, Faith and the Muse, Ken Gardner, the FealGood
Foundation, Washington Capitals Player Development Camp, World Football
Challenge's AC Milan and Chelsea exhibition game, and many other events.
She keeps out of trouble as an art director during daylight hours and manages
several clients' design needs from her studio at home. Smytii is a communications
design graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC-so her socks always
match!
- Balti:
You've
caught dj Balti's sets
as a resident dj at "Rapture", as well as
guest dj gigs at "The
Garden", "Mixer", and "Taboo" in Baltimore.
2007 also brought several appearances at Strangeland Records' "Strictly
Locals" events, and Cyberden in Columbia, MD.
In May 2008, Balti and smytii were honored to be selected
as the official dj talent for the NHL's "Hockey Fights Cancer" event
in Maryland - a one day extravaganza featuring fundraisers, bands,
vendors,
and
even
an alumni game. You can find out more here here.
Balti and smytii were invited to spin in the main room at "Dracula's
Ball" in Philadelphia, PA over Labor Day weekend, and they
kept the diverse crowd dancing all night; setlist from the night can
be found here.
His love of sports has earned him online recognition as a reporter
for the Baltimore Examiner (covering the Baltimore Blast during the
2009 season), as well as handling a variety of station programming
duties with c365Radio - Balti also created (and hosts) c365Radio's
"MMA Meltdown" with mixed martial artist Kenny Wilson, you can catch
the
latest episode
of their exclusive look at this popular sport every Wednesday and Friday
only on c365Radio.
Balti brings a unique blend of hard industrial, old-school metal, and
a trunkful of oddities he's collected along the way to Corrosion. Balti
lures patrons onto the dance floor
with his infectious mix of industrial tunes and hard-dance beats.
- and
a thank-you...
To Corrosion's
internet radio home, Live365.com; the
athletes, writers, musicians, artists, and countless
others we've had the opportunity
to
chat with;
the new merchandising friends we've made along
the
way, our friends and families who've supported
us, and YOU.
